Robert Woods, CRNA and FirstLight Health System Anesthesia Manager received his BSN from St. John’s University Collegeville, MN in 1994 after completion of Basic Training courses at Walter Reed Medical Center. His first assignment was in the NICU following completion of the Army Nurse Critical Care Course worked in the SICU. Robert completed his Masters in Nursing (MSN) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD in 1999 and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital from 1999-2003. Bob was deployed twice, serving a Forward Surgical Team and a Combat Support Hospital for operations, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Upon completing his active duty obligation his family moved back to MN where he started an anesthesia service for rural hospitals covering staffing shortages and vacations.
Robert accepted a full time position at FirstLight during that time and has since transitioned to the Anesthesia Manager. He is involved in the Mora Lions club, St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus, Mora Education Foundation, the Mora Half Marathon, and Vassaloppet. Robert is also currently in his second year as a School Board Member in the Mora school district.
Because of Bob’s passion, commitment and belief in the FirstLight mission, he assists with Physician Recruitment.
Bob has provided surgical anesthesia for over 17 years and interventional pain management for 15 years.
